SUNBURY — Lester P. “Park” Mayhew, 85, died July 2, 2010, at his Sunbury home.
He was born in Columbus on May 15, 1925, to Charles and Rebecca (Mosley) Mayhew. He served his country during World War II and served as a Ohio State Highway patrolman.
Surviving are his wife, Betty (Compton); children, Linda (David) Hunt, Joe (Casey) Mayhew, David (Debbie) Mayhew; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Ed Mayhew of Columbus; sister, Deanie Rees.
Preceded in death by an infant son, Steven; three brothers; three sisters.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., with Masonic services at 8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. A service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Genoa Baptist Church, 7562 Lewis Center Road, Westerville, with Pastors Frank Carl and Wayne Booth officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
