GRANVILLE — Edwin H. Meyer, 87, of Granville died Saturday, July 3, 2010, surrounded by his family at Bennington Glen, Marengo.
He was born March 22, 1923, in New York City. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and for 16 months was a POW. After the war and until retirement he worked as a personnel manager with CIT in Yew York.
In 1946, Edwin married his wife of 64 years, Janet (Bookman). After raising their family on Long Island and retiring to Connecticut, they moved to Granville in 1992.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Jim (Susan) of Portland, Ore., Bobby (Barbara) of Rockville, Md., and Danny (Penny) of Sunbury; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and dog, Tater.
Services will be held privately for his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.
His family prefers memorial contributions be made to Bennington Glen, 825 Ohio 61, Marengo, OH 43334.
