HOWARD — Ronald F. Frost, 93, of Howard passed away Tuesday morning, July 6, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital.
He was born June 4, 1917, in Mount Vernon, son of the late William C. and Goldie G. (Vian) Frost. Ronald retired from the former PPG plant in Mount Vernon. He attended the First Christian Church in Howard. Ronald was an avid fisherman, an excellent storyteller, and enjoyed playing euchre. He was always there to lend a helping hand and was a man of great patience.
Ronald is survived by a son, Paul (Sherry) Frost of Mansfield; daughters, Patricia (David) Wyant of Mount Vernon and Sharon (Robert) Mann of St. Louisville; stepchildren, Ruth (Kenneth) Armstrong of Danville, Henry (Harriet) Edmister of Mount Vernon, Robert Conkle of Logan, Ellen (Terry) Hogue of Howard, Patricia (Fred) Mossholder of Howard, Ronald (Linda) Conkle of Mount Vernon and Richard (Becky) Conkle of Mount Vernon; 12 grandchildren, Brandon, Danielle, Krystle, Janelle, Shannon, Gordon and Kelly Frost, Brigett Perkins Mann, Brad Perkins, Darcy Coggins, Tim Wyant and Jennifer Fox; many stepgrandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Norland “Pete” (Maxine) Frost of Mount Vernon.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen I. (Bross) Frost; his second wife, Alice (Proper) Conkle Frost; a son, Gordon L. Frost; sisters, Iona Lannoy and Geraldine Hoar; and brothers, Marion “Art” and Elmer Frost.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jeffrey Coggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
