MARTINSBURG — Owen W. Flack, 88, of Martinsburg passed away July 6, 2010, at Heath Nursing Care Center in Heath.

He was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Knox County and was the son of the late Joseph L. and Margaret (Walcott) Flack. Owen was a lifelong farmer of the Martinsburg area. He was a member of the National Farmers Organization and a former member of the Butler Grange. He served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Willie May “Billie” Bess Flack; his daughters, Janet (Rodger) Booth of Martinsburg and Donna (Guy) Cooperider of Pickerington; five grandchildren, Stuart Veatch, Eric Veatch, Amy Glenn, Marie Wood and Sarah Cooperider; four great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.

Owen was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Blue in 1970; brothers, Edison and Noa Flack; and a sister, Evelyn Farmer.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside funeral service will be Friday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m. in Bladensburg Cemetery with the Rev. Ben McKinstry officiating. The Knox County Joint Veterans Council will conduct military graveside honors. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Bladensburg is handling the funeral arrangements for the Owen Flack family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Owen’s name to Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department or Bladensburg Cemetery Endowment Fund.
