FREDERICKTOWN — Laird Mack, 79, of North Liberty Road, Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, at his residence.

He was born July 9, 1930, in Franklin County, Ohio, to the late Howard and Ila (Hall) Mack. Laird owned and operated the family farm since 1951. He also worked for the Johnstown Elevator, Clear Fork Ski Lodge, Pleasant Hill Lake and Mohican State Park and Lodge. Laird enjoyed woodworking, using his computer and visiting with neighbors, friends and family. He attended the Three Crosses United Methodist Fellowship and was a member of the North Liberty Garden Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary (Jewell) Mack; a son, Michael (Laura) Mack of Mansfield; three daughters, Linda (Mike) Somerville of Barberton, Ohio, Terri (Dennis) Benson of Bellville, Ohio, and Sue (Rick) Johnson of Howard, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dean (Carol Jean) Mack of Ostrander, Ohio.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Monday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at the Three Crosses United Methodist Fellowship in Butler. The family wishes to thank everyone for their generosity and many visits.
