HOWARD — Richard J. Petrozino, 68, of Howard died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 16, 1942, in Pottsville, Pa., to the late Albert and Anna (Pomian) Petrozino. Richard was a member of the St. Luke Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He retired from AMG Industries as a tool and dye maker in 2004 after 38 years of service. Richard was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, E. Vernie (Wilson) Petrozino; son, Rick (Viola) Petrozino of Fredericktown; daughters, Leisa Petrozino and Lori (Roger Crumbaker) Gerrard, both of Mount Vernon; five granddaughters, Casey, Samantha, Cara, Emily and Shelby; a great-grandson, Wesley “Rocky”; brother, Albert Petrozino Jr. of St. Clair, Pa.; and close cousins, Bernard and Alex Bernitsky of Pennsylvania.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville, where a prayer service will follow calling hours at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church with the Rev. Father F. Richard Snoke as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral arrangements for the Petrozino family.
