SEBRING, Fla. — Opal Ann Williams, 71, of 8053 Pennsylvania Road, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 17, 1938, in Glen White, W.Va., to the late John and Fay (England) Crosky. She was a wonderful mother who was loved dearly by family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her special companion, David Stone, as they loved each other very much. One of her greatest accomplishments was receiving her GED. She later went on to technical college to obtain her STNA certificate when she was in her 50s. She also enjoyed making crafts and socializing.
She is survived by her loving companion, David Stone of Sebring, Fla.; two sons, Mike Slaughter of Fort Myers, Fla., and Steve Slaughter of Columbus; two daughters, Terri Bro of Columbus and Elana (Mark) Cothern of Danville; a sister, Mary (Butch) Rawlins, and a brother, Frank (Dee) Crosky, both of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her lifetime best-friend, Shirley (Bill) Hilles of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Stacy Ellis of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Williams; a brother, John Crosky; and two sisters, Christine (Albert) Holmes and Stella Ellis.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 17, at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Interment will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 16. Visit www.fischerfuneralhome.com.
