SUNBURY — Pauline Ruth Shultz Culver, 94, Sunbury, died July 19, 2010, at Country View of Sunbury.

She was born in Waynesfield on July 13, 1916, to Bernard Leroy and Elsie Paulena (Bailey) Shultz. She was a 1937 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, where she majored in education. She studied further at The Ohio State University, Utah State and the University of Nevada. Pauline taught at Centerburg and East Knox schools, among others.

Surviving are children, Carol Wood, Anita Wolverton, Brent Culver; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Florence (Nash). Deceased are husband, Arthur Moore Culver Jr.; brother, John W. Shultz; sisters, Hetty Harroun, Dorothy Stone; and brother-in-law, Howard Nash.

Friends may call Thursday, 5-8 p.m., at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. A service celebrating Pauline’s life will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Galena United Methodist Church, 2777 Sunbury Road, Galena, with Rev. Jeff Croft officiating. Burial to follow in Sunbury Memorial Park. Visit
