DANVILLE — Albert James “Jim” Piar, 66, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at the Knox Community Hospital.

He was born March 15, 1944, in Knox County to Herman and Lucy Catherine Ellen (Durbin) Piar. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the American Legion Post 257 of Loudonville. He worked at Flxible for 33 years, and at FT Precision for over eight.

Jim is survived by his brother, Robert (Nancy) Piar; sisters, Martha (Leonard) Neighbarger and Margaret Piar; stepchildren, Ben, Tim and Beth Keener; and a stepgrandson, Anthony Keener.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Joseph E. Piar; and a sister, Sister Mary Ellen Piar S.C.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 24, at 11 a.m. at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville. The Rev. Fathers Richard Snoke and Homer Blubaugh will officiate. Burial, with graveside military rites by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the church on Friday from 5 to 8, followed by a prayer service.
