UTICA — A funeral service for John A. Spearman, 85, of Utica will be held Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.
John died July 30, 2010, at Utica Care Center. He was born March 23, 1925, in Centerburg to the late John M. and Lizzie B. (Hartupee) Spearman. John was a World War II Navy veteran and received the Asiatic Pacific ribbon. He worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Mount Vernon, was a member of the American Legion Post 92 and loved bowling, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence E. (Dunlap) Spearman, who passed away April 1, 2009; brothers, Don “Donny” Spearman and Richard Spearman; and sisters, Mary Louise Hall and Ethel Irene Spearman.
Friends may call Monday, Aug. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.
