MILLERSBURG — Willis Dean Chanay, 74, of Millersburg died Saturday morning, July 31, 2010, at his residence following a tractor accident.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with Pastor Clyde Ondrizek officiating. Burial will be at the Killbuck Cemetery, Killbuck. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born April 1, 1936, on the family farm in Coshocton County, the son of Charles and Bessie (Hawkins) Chanay. On June 28, 1955, he married Martha Ross and she survives. He retired from Ohio Oil Gathering in 1986 and was a self-employed trucker. He also enjoyed fishing in Canada with his brother, Earl, sons, grandsons and friends. He was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Jan (Bart) Mohler of Millersburg and Barb (Tom) Arnold of Killbuck; sons, Bill (Karen) Chanay of Coshocton and Jim Chanay of Killbuck; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Eltringham of Killbuck; twin sisters, Jean (Jim) Shinabarker of Glenmont and Anita Carol (Jim) Dial of Glenmont; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda, who died in November 2009; his parents; brothers, Logan, Don and Earl; and sister, Marie Roberts.
