JOHNSTOWN — Lee E. Piper, 87, of Johnstown died Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Riverside Hospital.

He was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Harlem Township to the late Clarence and Thirza (Grove) Piper. He served during World War II in the U.S. Air Force.

Survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Klamfoth); children, Joyce Facemyer, Allen Piper, Gary Piper, Dwight Piper, Duane Piper; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene, Merle and Carl; sisters, Margie Pestal and Mary Jane Thompson; and a sister-in-law.

Preceded in death by brother, Raymond; and sister, Marie Rhodeback.

Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Harlem Road United Methodist Church, 5520 Harlem Road, Galena, OH 43021. The Rev. Bud Leskovac will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Fancher Cemetery.
