DANVILLE — Larry James Conner, 71, of Millersburg Road, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at his son’s home after a long battle with brain cancer that he was diagnosed with in 2007.

He was born April 2, 1939, in Holmes County to the late Floyd B. and Claudia L. (Adams) Conner. He worked for MCI (Flxible) for over 33 years, until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the AMVETS of Mount Vernon and the American Legion of Loudonville; and he enjoyed gardening, baseball, football and “tinkering.”

He is survived by his children, Terri (Mark) Davenport of Toledo, Theresa (Perry) Board of Gilbert, Ariz., and Larry Conner II (Lindsay) of Danville; his grandchildren, Austin, Caleb, Nathan and Josh Davenport, Anna and Toby Board, and Zane Conner; three brothers, Denver (Louise) Conner and Lester “Bud” (Audrey) Conner of Millersburg, and Dean (Peggy) Conner of Columbus; the mother of his children he was married to for 19 years, Edna P. Conner of Millersburg; and his wife of the last two years, Mary (Long) Conner.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant sister.

Funeral service will be Monday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, with Minister Dave Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
