UTICA — A funeral service for Betty E. Grennell, 78, of Utica will be held Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. at Utica Church of Christ with Alan Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Lock Cemetery.
Betty died Aug. 7, 2010, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home, Mount Vernon. She was born Oct. 10, 1931, in Mount Vernon to the late George L. and Velma I. (Myers) Douglass. She was a member of the Utica Church of Christ and OES Glenwood Chapter 303. Betty retired from L.R.E. and also worked at The Miller Co.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Michael E. “Monk” Grennell and Lester A. and Linda Grennell, all of Utica; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Norman Creighton of Utica; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Donovan and Virginia Douglass and Nick Douglass, all of Mount Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Grennell, who passed away April 4, 2010.
Friends may call Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave., where there will be an Order of Eastern Star Service at 5:45 p.m.
