DUBLIN — Frederick Waltz, 67, of Dublin died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at his residence.

Frederick was born April 8, 1943, in Columbus. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1961 and earned a BA degree from Washington and Jefferson College in 1965 and was retired from Verizon in 2008. He was an avid golfer and often played at the Safari and Champions golf courses in Columbus.

He is survived by a daughter, Kristin (Michael) Tomczak of Dexter, Mich.; a granddaughter, Brianna Tomczak; two brothers, Mark Koenig of Washington, D.C., and Peter Koenig of Montgomery Village, Md.; and two sisters, Ann Wobbecke of Glenmont and Lisa Koenig of Dublin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick A. Waltz; his mother, Elizabeth (Norelius) Waltz Koenig; and his stepfather, Charles “Jake” Koenig.
