CENTERBURG — Alfred B. “Al” Wandle
Jr., 70, of West Main Street, Centerburg, passed away Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at
his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 17, 1939, in Morrow County to the late Alfred and Georgia (Kempton)
Wandle Sr. and graduated from Fredericktown High School. Al owned several businesses
including the Silver Dollar, Southside Bar and Drive Thru, West Vine Social Club
and Auto Mart, all of Mount Vernon; Al’s Place in Butler, Ohio; and the
Sinclair gas station in Fredericktown. Al was a car enthusiast and won many trophies
with his prize possessions, his 1936 Ford Street Rod and a 1967 El Camino.
He is survived by two daughters, Dianna (Karl) Nordman of Cedar Park, Texas,
and Kimberly Khan of Georgetown, Texas; two sons, Allen (Gloria) Wandle of Lewis
Center, Ohio, and Darren (Sharon Balthis) Wandle of Sunbury; seven grandchildren;
two sisters, Beverly (Robert) St. Amand of Fredericktown, Barbara (Curtis) Hensley
of Bellville; and good friend, Bill Glackin.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown,
where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Don Linn will
be officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville, Ohio.
