ATLANTA, Ga. — David Stanley Underwood, 51, passed away Aug. 1, 2010, at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. David passed away quietly with family present after a two-month battle with liver cancer.

David was raised in Mount Vernon and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1976. David was the owner of David’s Finished Carpentry and had resided in the Atlanta area for over 25 years. David’s immediate family are residents of Knox County.

David is survived by his mother, Patricia A. Maitland; sister, Abby Underwood Maitland; brothers, Thomas A. Underwood and Stephen C. Underwood; son, Dylan McCament; nephews, Michael Underwood, Patrick T. Underwood, Adam Maitland Donadio, Stephen Underwood and Jess Underwood; and niece, Anna Maitland Donadio. Other surviving family members are an uncle, Henry Patrick Underwood; uncle, Thomas J. Maitland; aunt, Mary K. Dorgin; and aunt, Lorna Hope.

David was preceded in death by his father, Thomas B. Underwood.

Services will be held at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 25 Church St., Bellville, OH 44813, on Sunday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. Pastor John Martin will be presiding.
