MARTINSBURG — Virginia Ross Burkholder, 89, of Martinsburg passed away Aug. 14, 2010, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 11, 1920, in Mount Vernon to Benjamin and Mary (Brown) Ross. Virginia was a lifetime resident of Knox County and a longtime member of Martinsburg Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John Burkholder; one son, David (Teresa) Burkholder of Barberton; one daughter, Sharon (Bob) Miller of Gambier; six grandchildren, Teresa Miller-Stull, Angela Miller-Windle, Roderic Miller, Brittney Burkholder, Bethany Burkholder and Benjamin Burkholder; four great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Morgan, Marshall and Hollieanne.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Mona Carter; and her brothers, Robert, John, and Harry Ross.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Martinsburg Church of Christ, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Mr. Don Allen and Dan Noe officiating. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Cemetery on State Route 541.

Memorial contributions may be made in Virginia’s memory to Central Ohio Hospice, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055.
