SPARTA — Eileen “Maynard” Sears, 73, of Sparta died Aug. 18, 2010, at Bennington Glen, Marengo.
Born Sept. 14, 1936, in Fulton, she was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served as culinary food instructor at the Federal Prison Camp in Duluth, Minn., and Lebanon Correctional Institute in Ohio.
Survived by daughter, Kelly Simms (Brian Ballard); mother, Grace (Burson) Stinehelfer; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob Sears, David Sears, Clyde Sears and Dennis Sears; sister-in-law, Susie Roush.
Preceded in death by infant son, Carroll A. Sears Jr.; father, Gerald Stinehelfer; brothers, William Springer and Gerald Stinehelfer.
Friends may call Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo, where services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Rob Musick officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Bloomfield Cemetery.
