MOUNT VERNON — Bonnie J. Walpole-Dean, 73, of Mount Vernon died Aug. 23, 2010, in Mount Vernon.

She was born Jan. 11, 1937, in Mount Vernon and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Helen (Morrison) Walpole Sr. Bonnie was a former member of the Vine Street Church of Christ. She will always be remembered for her passion to go out of her way to help family and friends. Bonnie enjoyed walking and her love for animals including her dog, Sissy.

She is survived by her sisters, Judy C. Llewellyn of Mount Vernon and Shirley Hoagland of Loudonville; a brother, Kenneth Walpole of Florida; a close friend and caregiver, Joy Swope of Mount Vernon; Joy’s children, Joey and Ashley Whittaker; Ashley’s children, Brody Cosner, Azlynn and Bristol Baughman; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, James Dean, in 1995; sisters, Wanda Proper and Patricia Baker; brothers, Ernest Jr., Larry and Donald Walpole.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Brandon Cemetery with the Rev. Marvin Haught officiating. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the funeral services for the Dean family.
