MOUNT VERNON — Mildred R. Hulse, 91, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Fredericktown, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Autumn Health Care in Mount Vernon.
Mildred was born Nov. 23, 1918, in Huntington, Ind., to Fred and Mary (Lawrence) Hacker and had lived most of her lifetime in the Fredericktown area. She was a registered nurse and had been employed at the former Hillcrest Nursing Home near Fredericktown for 13 years. Mildred was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church near Fredericktown and the Knox County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are her sons, Philip (Janet) Hulse of Marion, Michael (Betty) Hulse of Savannah, Ga., and Mark (Tami) Hulse of Fredericktown; her daughters, Barbara (Robert) Brooke of Panama City Beach, Fla., Arlene (William) Byler of Fredericktown and Mary Suzette Forte of Westerville; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dale (Janice) Hacker of Huntington, Ind.
Besides her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Hoy W. Hulse; sister, Nellie Fisher; and two brothers, Dean Hacker and Glen Hacker.
Friends may call Friday, Aug. 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. with her son, Mark Hulse, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
