THORNVILLE — Paul Bancroft Fant III, 64, of Fairfield Beach, Thornville, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010.

Paul was born on June 27, 1946, in Mount Vernon to the late Paul Bancroft and Barbara (Lefever) Fant II. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid fan of the OSU football team, had many loyal friends, was an outstanding member of his community. He opened his home to his friends, where they would come to play games, watch football and just hang out. Also, Paul was very interested in history, was intelligent, engaging and curious man.

He is survived by his spouse of 38 years, Kathleen Norris; son, Alexander Fant; sister, Jane Issacs; and his many friends.

In addition to his parents Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Emelie Shotts.

There will be a funeral Mass held Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 3 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Mark Hammond officiating.

In lieu of flowers you may make a memorial donation in Paul’s honor to the Arthritis Foundation, 109 N. Broad St., Lancaster, OH 43130.
