MOUNT VERNON — JoAnn Workman, 79, formerly of Danville, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at Emeritus at HillenVale.

She was born March 9, 1931, to Blanche (Carlisle) and Alvin Baird Ronk. On Sept. 24, 1950, she was married to Edwin W. Workman. She was a member of the Danville Church of Christ, and the Ohio Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening and attending her granddaughters’ activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed, on Sept. 28, 2000; brothers, Baird, Frederick and Murray Ronk; and a sister, Edith McCoy.

JoAnn is survived by her sons, Steve (Melody) Workman of Wooster and Mike (Paula) Workman of Granville; three granddaughters, Audrey Workman, Morgan (Michael) Lantz and Kinsea Workman; and a brother, Richard Ronk of Mansfield.

A funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Dean Hammond will be officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery in Danville. Calling hours will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
