ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Clarence Sherman Bale, 79, passed on Aug. 19, 2010, in Asheville, N.C.
He was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Orange Township, Delaware County, the youngest son of Walter W. and Leona Wherry Bale. He was a graduate of Orange High School and attended Bliss Business College. He served in the U.S. Army. He had a lifelong love of antique cars. He was a member and served as an officer in the Dixie Chapter of Penn-Ohio Antique Car Club; was a member of Antique Car Club of America. He was a longtime resident of Delaware and Chesterville; and moved to Lenoir, N.C., where he was a member of First Christian Church of Lenoir.
He was preceded by his parents; and brothers, Robert W. and Walter L. Bale.
He is survived by loving wife of 57 years, June Norton Bale; many nieces and nephews.
Service will be Saturday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. at Sunbury Christian Church, 250 Rainbow Ave., Sunbury (43074). Donations in lieu of flowers to church.
