COLUMBUS — William Dean “Bill” Bails, 84, of Columbus, formerly of Danville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.
He was born in Walhonding, the son of the late John and Marie (Thatcher) Bails. Bill was a graduate of Warsaw High School and worked in construction and as a meat-cutter, most recently at Broadmoor Market until it closed in 2009. He was a member of Madison Christian Church.
Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Snow) Bails; sons, Daniel (Eleanor) Bails of Reynoldsburg and David (fiancee, Judi) Bails of Largo, Fla.; grandchildren, Breena, Jonathan and Natalie Bails, and Brandon Black; great-granddaughter, Brynlee Jacobs; sisters, Joan (the late Rollie) Darr of Warsaw, Ohio, and Karen (Ron) Altier of Denver, Colo.; nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.
Bill embodied the true spirit of Christianity. He prayed daily and was kind and caring to everyone he met. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather, and loved his family above all else. Those who knew him will recall his cheerfulness, sense of humor and ability to make friends wherever he went.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at Madison Christian Church, 3565 Bixby Road, Groveport, where the funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Paul Barnes officiating.
