DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Joseph W. Black, 86, passed away Sept. 7, 2010.

He was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and was a resident of Delray Beach, Fla. He was formerly from St. Louis, Mo., where he still has many friends and family. He was a member of the Elks Club and worked at Seagate Manor in Delray Beach.

He is survived by his brother, William T. Black of Charlottesville, Va.; his son, Joseph W. Black II of St. Louis, wife Mary Ann; his daughter, Glenna E. Sircy of Dallas, Texas, husband Edward; his two grandchildren, Rena Black and J.K. Black; one great-grandson, Emory Black; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in February 2011 in Delray Beach, Fla. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
