UTICA — A funeral service for Wallace C. Byler, 80, of Utica will be Thursday, Sept. 16, at 10 a.m. at Melita Christian Fellowship Church, with Owen Miller and Eli Hostetler officiating. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Amish Cemetery.
Wallace died Sept. 13, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon. He was born June 29, 1930, in Geauga County, Ohio, to the late Christian and Elizabeth (Detweiler) Byler.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Edna M. (Miller) Byler of Utica; seven children, Enos Byler of Somerset, Christina (Merle) Yoder of Sarcoxie, Mo., Wallace (Creta) Byler of Huntsville, Ark., Daniel (Mary) Byler of Huntsville, Ark., David (Minerva) Byler of Fairview, Mo., Robert (Katie) Byler of Drasco, Ark., and Alan (Audrey) Byler of Utica; 37 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Owen Byler and Steve Byler; one brother, Christian Byler; one daughter-in-law, Sharon (Garber) Byler; one grandson, Matthew Yoder; three sisters, Katie Byler, Mattie Byler and Ida Miller.
Friends may call today, Sept. 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Melita Christian Fellowship Church, 9956 Camp Ohio Road, Utica.
