LEXINGTON — Ray E. Kinton, 80, died Sept. 21, 2010, in his Lexington home.

He was born Dec. 29, 1929, north of Butler in Richland County to Eddis F. and Dorothy I. (Myers) Kinton. A lifelong Richland County resident, he was a full-time police officer for the village of Lexington.

He is survived by his son, David (Diane) Kinton of Blacklick; his daughter, Janice Miller of Lexington; grandsons, Timothy Kinton and Michael Miller; a brother, Thomas (Sue) Kinton of Fredericktown; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Logan) Kinton; and brothers, Harold F. Kinton and Howard Otis Kinton.

Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, Mansfield, where his funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
