COLUMBUS — Jean Helen (Brown) Parker, 85, of Columbus passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010.
Jean was born and raised in Columbus, daughter of the late George and Florence McCotter. Also preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Brown; second husband, Gene Parker; and siblings, Inez Doughty, George McCotter Jr. and Russell McCotter.
Jean graduated from South High School, Class of 1943. Jean was a very down to earth woman. She was fun loving, had a great sense of humor, and was very independent. She enjoyed Western movies, weekly trips to the market and Plank’s, but most of all she enjoyed the time spent with her great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her twin brother, Jack (Marty) McCotter; daughter, Susan Burns; son, Craig (Emilie) Brown; grandchildren, Morgan (Madelene) Burns, Danny Burns, Ben (Dora) Brown and Beth (Eric) Wetzel; stepgrandchildren, Tad (Stephanie) Ross and Erin Kempton; great-grandchildren, Megan Burns, Jaden, Kai and Jack Wetzel, and Rowyn, Jude and Lila Brown; stepgreat-grandchildren, Gaia Phillips, Atticus and Thurston Ross; plus or minus 52 wonderful nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. at Schoedinger Linden Memorial Chapel, 2741 Cleveland Ave., where family will receive friends on Friday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Interment in Obetz Cemetery. Pastor Vicky Kelley officiating.
