MOUNT VERNON — Stephen M. Hoar, 46, of East High Street, Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at his home.
He was born Oct. 2, 1963 ,in Mount Vernon to Melvin and Margaret (Bragg) Hoar. Stephen was formerly employed at the Glass Gardens Greenhouse and TRW. He was an avid sports fan and loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Stephen played the guitar and loved Elvis and would, at times, do an impersonation. He loved humor and telling jokes. Stephen was a devoted husband, father, son and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Tish (Forster) Hoar; three sons, Jeremiah Hoar, Jonathon Hoar, Benjamin Hoar, all of Mount Vernon; a daughter Elizabeth Hoar of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Pamela (Mark) Sheasby of Danville, Patricia Woods of Clintonville; his parents, Melvin and Margaret Hoar of Mount Vernon; special friends, Randy Ike and Kevin Peterson; his devoted dog Coco; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
