SUNBURY — Dr. Harry Y.C. Wong, 93, of Sunbury, died Thursday morning, Sept. 23, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 23, 1916, in Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii. Member of the Seventh-day Adventist Hill Church in Mount Vernon, he received his Ph.D. from University of Southern California. He was also instrumental in developing the cholesterol free egg substitute. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and also a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mabel (Liu) Wong, of Sunbury; sons, William James Wong and Donald (Lisa) Wong; daughter, CarolJean (Bruce) Hastilow; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and half sister, Dorothy Muraoka.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and Howard; sister, Hazel Wong.
