UTICA — A graveside service for Maurice J. Cote, 83, of Utica, will be held Thursday, Sept. 30, at 1:30 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman. The family will receive friends Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home.
Maurice died Sept. 28, 2010, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. He was born March 10, 1927, in Lowell, Mass., to the late Armand and Aurora Cote. He was a former co-owner with his wife of Cote’s Jewelry on Broadway in Lorain and a World War II Coast Guard veteran. Maurice was plant manager for Certified International in Cleveland and was a realtor/broker and auctioneer.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly J. (Penson) Cote of Utica; daughter, Linda Cote of Newark; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Karen Cote of Barton, Vt.; sisters and brother-in-law, Pauline and Carl Rosso of Lorain, Roland Carbonneau of Lowell, Mass., and Florence Shakir of Connecticut.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Cote and Rene Cote; and sister, Doris Lebell.
Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, is assisting the family with arrangements.
