ST. LOUISVILLE — A funeral service for Donald Benny Keener, 67, of St. Louisville will be Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, with the Rev. Frank Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Keener passed away Oct. 6, 2010, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born April 19, 1943, in Winding Gulf, W.Va., to the late James D. and Myrtle G. (Nolton) Keener. Mr. Keener was a retired semi-truck driver for FedEx Freight. He was a member of Northside Christ Church. He especially enjoyed his family and fishing.
Mr. Keener is survived by his son, Donald Dana (Patricia) of St. Louisville; daughter, Patricia Arlene (Randy Williams) of Newark; grandson, Matthew Donald Keener of Newark; brothers and sisters, Dick of Utica, Pauline of California, Hobert of Utica, Wanda of Utica, Dreama of Utica, Joe of Utica, Darrell of Utica, Ann of Newark, Roger of Newark, Joyce of Newark and Judy of Granville; two stepgrandsons, David Shane and Adam Williams; and half brother, James of Michigan.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Margie, in 1999; sister, Barbara; and special friend, Sassy.
Friends may call Monday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 59 N. Fifth St., Newark.
