CAIRO, Ga. — Adell M. (Hale)
Peck Sturgeon of Cairo, Ga., died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at her residence.
Graveside service will be Thursday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. in Green Hills Cemetery,
with Elmer Gene Compton officiating.
She was born Nov. 4, 1927, at Buchanan, Va., to Charles Roby and Lou (Wilson)
Hale. She was a homemaker and member of Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Patricia (Jerry) Mobley of Cairo, Ga., Christine E.
McNichols of Ochlocknee, Ga., Roberta Smith of Marshall, Mich., Loretta L. (Norman)
Lower of Mount Vernon; sons, Curtis Harley (Karen) Peck Jr. of Thomasville, Ga.,
Charles (Cindi) Peck of Danville, Clifford (Beverly) Peck of Ochlocknee, Ga.,
and Steve (Tiney) Peck of Dawson, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren;
six great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Hurley Hale of Williamsburg, Va., and
Marvin Hale of Cedar Bluff, Va.; and sister, Jalaine Dye of Cedar Bluff.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Herchell, Garland
and Herbert Hale; sister, Artis Bowen; and husband, Curtis H. Peck Jr., on Sept.
7, 1972.
