GROVE CITY — Larry J. Davis, 74, of Grove City passed away at Grant Medical Center on Oct. 13, 2010, after a brief illness.

He was born to the late Paul and Ethel Davis in Mount Vernon on May 23, 1936. Larry graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. He was a professional engineer and worked at Buckeye Steel Casting as plant engineer for 39 years. After retiring, he worked as safety engineer for Steeltree Construction. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grove City, and a member of Aladdin Shrine, El Hajj, Capital City Lodge, past member of Plant Engineers of Ohio. Larry had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a good joke. He loved his family and truly enjoyed spending time with his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Robertson.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy; sons, Brian (Kim) and Brad (Gwen); daughter, Polly (Steve) Mapes; grandchildren, Jason, Corey, Daniel and Grace Davis, Sawyer and Sadie Mapes; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Oct. 18, at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 4227 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, where family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 4 to 6 p.m. Pastor Robert Tolar officiating.
