PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — Nadene E. Lord, 86, of Peachtree City, Ga., and formerly of Gambier, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, after a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Elizabeth Wright; husband, Samuel; brother, Edgar Wright Jr.; sisters, Margaret Drumright and Frances Marcussen.

She is survived by her son, David Strome of Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughters, Barbara Strome (and partner Ben Drake) of Peachtree City, Ga., and Margaret Davisson (and husband Martin Davisson) of Peachtree City, Ga.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ms. Lord was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Nashville, Tenn., and graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1946. She lived in Gambier from 1952-88. For nearly 10 years, beginning in the mid-1960s, she hosted “Coffee Cup” on WMVO, and later, worked as public relations director for Martin Memorial Hospital. She was also active in community organizations.

In 1988, Ms. Lord moved with her husband to Pinehurst, N.C., where she lived until his death in 1997. For the past 13 years, she had resided in Peachtree City, Ga., near her two daughters.

There will be a family graveside gathering in Gambier on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010.
