CRESTON — Tim A. Piar, 52, of Creston, passed away Saturday evening, Oct. 16, 2010, surrounded by his family at the Holy Family Hospice Home in Parma, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Tim was born July 7, 1958, in Sandusky, son of Glenn A. and Maud M. (Mansen) Piar of Medina. Tim was baptized and received his first Holy Communion at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. Before Tim’s illness, he was a chemist for Sun-Chemical in Cleveland.
In addition to his parents, Tim is survived by his son, Stephen and wife, Heather Piar of Creston; adopted children, Shawna A. Piar and Chris Piar; grandchildren, Kathryn, Glenn, Kirk and Samantha; sister, Tammy Piar of Medina; brother, Terry and wife, Linda Piar of Hinckley; and uncles, aunts and cousins.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. The Rosary will be prayed following the calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond as the celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
