FORT DODGE, Kan. — Viola McLaughlin, 88, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at the Kansas Soldiers Home, Halsey Hall, Fort Dodge, Kan.

She was born May 3, 1922, at Woodsfield, Ohio, the daughter of John and Clara (Miller) Reischman. Formerly of Ohio and Colorado, she was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Hugh McLaughlin; five sons, Paul, John, Tom, Joe and Karl; four daughters, Martha Vandervort, Rosemary Pagano, Karen Worley and Linda McLaughlin; a sister, Vivian Kahrig; 29 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Helen Smith; three sisters; and a grandson.

Vigil service will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew Church. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Father Robert A. Schremmer presiding. Calling hours are Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery.
