FREDERICKTOWN — Helen Jane Sherrill, 65, of Fredericktown, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born Aug. 4, 1945, in Mount Vernon to Charles Dotson and Mary J. (Shannon) Cagnon. She attended Centerburg High School and had spent most of her lifetime in Knox County. She was a member of the First Church of God in Fredericktown.
Surviving are her husband, John H. Sherrill; daughters, Cindy (David) Waite of Bellville and Sherry (Tom) Smith of Gambier; stepson, Robert (Tammy) Sherrill of Bellville; stepfather, Robert Cagnon of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Alan Waite, Robert A. Sherrill and Adam Sherrill, Ashley Keen, Matthew Smith and Chelsea Smith; and great-grandson, Anthony Keen; and her sister, JoAnn (Gary) Hinkle of Mount Vernon. Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lee Dotson.
Friends may call Friday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road in Mount Vernon, where funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Richard Prater officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
