MOUNT VERNON — Merwyn Eugene Mullet, 76, of Mount Vernon died on Oct. 27, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born Jan. 10, 1934, in Killbuck and was the son of the late George Owen and Ada (Carpenter) Mullet. Merwyn was a member of the BSSA (Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association) and was in the Civil Air Patrol in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was also a former 4-H Advisor for over 10 years and a former crossing guard at 3rd Ward Central School.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Louise (Fulmer) Mullet; a sister, Shirley Haudenschild of Loudonville; several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Merwyn was preceded in death by two brothers, George Owen Mullet and James Mullet.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the arrangements for the Merwyn E. Mullet family.
