MANSFIELD — Gregory Allen Catlett, 58, of Mansfield died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at his residence.
Born May 5, 1952, in Mansfield, he was the son of Robert and Ruth (Smith) Catlett. He was employed as the General Manager at VASU Communications and had a real passion for his job. He started working with two-way radios at the age of 15 and enjoyed maintaining public safety communications. Greg also enjoyed golfing, was a member of the AMVETS Post 26, and was in a band called Long Overdue.
Surviving are a son, Daniel (Ashlee) Catlett of Mansfield; his mother, Ruth (Catlett) Clark of Georgia; brothers, Jim (Mary) Catlett of Mansfield and Doug (Patty) Catlett of Georgia; sister, Suesan (Terry) Patton of Texas; several nieces and nephews; his extended family, Deb Catlett of Mansfield, Charles and Shirley Zents of Crestline and Diane and Wayne Ward of Mansfield; special friends, Tom and Deb Bellamy of South Carolina, Sue Popke of Sandusky and Paul and Deb Black of Bolivar, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Catlett; and son, Joshua Catlett.
Friends may call Wednesday, Nov. 3, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Mansfield. Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2010 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, conducted by Pastor Richard Beal. Burial will follow in Springmill Cemetery.
