MOUNT GILEAD — Helen P. Day, 92, of Mount Gilead, formerly of Centerburg, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Woodside Care Center in Mount Gilead.

She was born April 23, 1918, in Mount Vernon to the late Dailey and Bessie Morrison. On March 13, 1936, in Mount Liberty, she married Harry G. Day and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1997. Together they owned and operated Day’s Hardware in Centerburg.

She is survived by children, Robert (Rosa) Day of Hurst, Texas, Kathryn Marie Day Doran of Mount Gilead and Garry (Patsy) Day of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Janet O’Conner of Mount Vernon; and brothers, Johnny and Roger Morrison of Fredericktown.

Preceded in death by sisters, Jean Ann Williams and Marvel Lepley; and brothers, Robert, Forrest, Dave and Kenny Morrison.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg.
