UTICA — The family of Louise Gerwin Farmer, 89, of Utica will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 6, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.
Louise died Oct. 25, 2010, at her residence. She was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Gibsonburg, Ohio, to the late Arthur H. and Bessie (Smith) Gerwin. Louise was a member of Utica United Methodist Church and a Sunday School teacher. She volunteered for the Ohio Reads Program at Utica Elementary and was an American Red Cross volunteer for the Utica Community Bloodmobile. Louise was a longtime Utica Guidance Counselor and was involved with Youth For Understanding which was an exchange student program.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Theodore A. Farmer, and son, Michael Farmer, both of Utica; grandchildren, Jayson Talbott Farmer, Cody Talbott Farmer and Lorrie Morgan Talbott Farmer.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Gerwin.
