MOUNT VERNON — Beverly Ann Hawk, 71, of Mount Vernon passed away unexpectedly Nov. 3, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital.
She was born Nov. 8, 1938, in Columbus to the late Charles William and Elizabeth (McIntire) Tharp. Beverly was a member of the Victory Church of Christ. She collected stamps, salt and pepper shakers, and enjoyed doing puzzles. Beverly had been a foster parent for 20 years and a past 4-H advisor.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 54 years, Robert F. Hawk; her children, Nancy Horton of Mount Vernon, Charles Wesley (Cathy) Hawk of Mount Vernon, Barbara (Jay) Carmen of Cincinnati, Richard Hawk of Grove City, James (Shawna) Hawk of Newark, and Sarah Sigman of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Kay Trotter of Mount Vernon; brothers, James (Jenny) Tharp of Fredericktown, Tom (Sandy) Tharp of Ocala, Fla., and Curt (Dixie) Tharp of Upper Sandusky.
Friends may call Sunday, Nov. 7, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. Funeral service will be Monday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m. at the Victory Church of Christ, 12470 Upper Fredericktown Road, Mount Vernon, with Evangelist Carl Snelling officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
