NEW KINGSTON, Pa. — Edward M. McCormick, 56, of New Kingston, Pa., passed away peacefully from this life on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, with his family at his bedside at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born Oct. 8, 1954, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to Horace and Shirley Mae (Glockner) McCormick. Edward worked as a salesclerk for J.A. Conley Co. of Mount Vernon for 30 years before moving to New Kensington, in 2001. He enjoyed roller-skating, photography, computers, cappuccino, listening to and creating music, and a wide variety of other interests and endeavors.
He is survived by his father; a son, Sean McCormick, and a daughter, Heather McCormick, both of Columbus; a sister, Diane (David) Devore of New Kensington; a niece, Angela (Leonard) Pierce of Lower Burrell; a nephew, Robert Buckmaster of Natrona; grandnieces, Cherish Coretsky and Leanne Pierce, grandnephews, Nicholas Thomm, Austin Coretsky, Leonard Pierce IV and Logan Pierce, all of Lower Burrell.
He was preceded in death by his mother in 1990.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
