MOUNT VERNON — Heather Kofod, 47, of West Gambier Street, Mount Vernon, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born April 1, 1963, in Mount Vernon to James Gray and Joyce (Peck) Gray. Heather was recently certified in reflexology. She previously worked for the Office bar and massage therapy out of her home. She was a member of the Eagles and AMVETS Post 95, both in Mount Vernon.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Kofod; her mother, Joyce (Niles Mahan) Gray of Mount Vernon; two sons, Jason Edmister of Gambier and Charlie (Brandy) Edmister of Mount Vernon; three stepdaughters, Ashley Anderson of Amity, Shanna Grennell of Mount Vernon and Sara Kofod of Howard; six grandchildren, Cayden and Camberly Edmister, Jasmine and Kaylee Anderson, and Autumn and Ashton Spaulding; two brothers, Richard Gray of Bellevue and Dan (Christa) Gray of Bladensburg; and a sister, Jackie (Roland) Hanna of Utica.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon.
