MOUNT VERNON — Richard L. “Dick” Wolfe, 66, of Becky Lane, Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.

He was born Jan. 6, 1944, in Mount Vernon to the late Lawrence and Jane (Bell) Wolfe. Dick retired in 2007 from Ellis Brothers Inc. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Gambier Fishing Club, Kokosing Gun Club and former member of the Moose of Mount Vernon. Dick had previously served on the Knox County Fair Board and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He was a fan of The Ohio State University sports teams and the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Kirby) Wolfe, whom he married on March 7, 1964; a son, Richard C. “Rick” Wolfe of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Lynley Wolfe of Lewis Center; a granddaughter, Macy Wolfe; and two sisters, Ruth Ann Coakley and Mary Jane Wolfe, both of Mount Vernon.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Bradley Lewis.

Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. The family will observe a private burial in Union Grove Cemetery.
