DELAWARE — Garnett L. Clark, 89, of Delaware, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Delaware Court in Delaware.

He was born April 2, 1921, in Russell County, Va., to the late Arthur and Rachel (Miller) Clark. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a retired groundskeeper for Steel Creek Golf Course in Bristol, Tenn. After the Navy he worked in Summit County, Va., as a sharecropper.

He is survived by sister-in-law, Mary Clark, of Delaware; brother-in-law, Bob Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceded by brother, Carlos Clark; sisters, Carmie Smith and Pearl Smith.

Service for Garnett will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. and friends may call from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Home, Sunbury. Interment with military honors by the Delaware County Veterans Association will follow in the Galena Cemetery.
