MOUNT VERNON — Ruth E. Mauger, 82, of Avalon Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

She was born April 14, 1928, in Licking County, to the late Hugh and Naomi (Moreland) Beever. Ruth graduated from Utica High School and retired as a medical secretary for the State of Ohio. She was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and past member of Sweet Adelines. Ruth enjoyed traveling and spending time with the “Fun Bunch.”

She is survived by a daughter, Karla (David R.) Vollman of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren, David R. Vollman, Kenneth Vollman, Ronald Vollman, Terri Vollman-Knollman; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Doris Beever of Loudonville; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Mauger; brothers and sisters, Irene Furbee, George Beever, Wanda Price, Wayne Beever, Grace Kidd, Neva Frost and Franklin Beever.

Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. The Rev. Warren Outhwaite will officiate. Entombment will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
