CROTON — Duane Debolt, 93, of Croton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Croton Church of Christ, 40 S. Main St., Croton, with interment to follow at Hartford Cemetery in Croton.

Duane was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Centerburg, to the late William and Belle (Hicks) Debolt. Duane was a graduate of Hartford High School and The Ohio State University. He was employed by Ohio Foundation Seeds for 36 years, serving as manager for 28 years. He was inducted into the Licking County Agriculture Hall of Fame. Duane served on the Hartford School Board for 12 years and then eight years on the Licking County Board of Education. He was a 70-year member of the Licking County Agrarian Club and a life member of the Masons. Duane was a beloved active member of the Croton Church of Christ. Duane and wife, Ruth, made their home in Croton. They enjoyed traveling and after retirement they spent their winters in Jensen Beach, Fla. He was devoted to his family and they to him.

Duane will be dearly missed by his children, Linda (James) Piper and Sally (Jerry) Houck of Croton, Jack (Sonja) Debolt of Centerburg; grandchildren, Lisa Piper Siegesmund of Westerville, Lori (Richard) Hebert of Croton, David (Diana) Piper of Jensen Beach, Fla., Karl (Jeanne) Houck of Noblesville, Ind., Kurt Houck of Scottsdale, Ariz., Timothy (Carmen) Debolt, Jennifer (Tony) Ulery and Michael Debolt, all of Croton; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Glenola Hasenflue of Bay Village, Ohio; along with many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth (Payne) Debolt; brothers, Harlin and Gerald Debolt; sisters, Lucille Crabbs, Helen Wasley and Margaret Walesch.

Family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 10, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Croton Church of Christ. Memorial contributions can be made in loving memory of Duane to the Croton Church of Christ Building Fund. Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
